Management of data
The STR Group is the sole owner of any data collected either at our web site or as part of our recruitment process. We will not rent or re-sell your data to any third parties.

The information we collect about you or your business enables us to:

How do you know we are gathering information?
Detailed information about you and your business is only collected when you supply it voluntarily e.g. send us a c.v. or register.
Sharing information
We may need to share your information within The STR Group, and our clients but only on condition that they also comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. Our contracts specifically require them to understand and comply with the Act. Our policy is not to use suppliers who will not comply with the Act.
Checking information
You can check the accuracy of our records at any time.
Requesting copies of the information we hold on you
You may request copies of the information we hold on you at any time. Please contact us in writing or by e-mail at the address shown below and we will provide you with full details of the information we are holding on you. We are allowed to charge a fee of £10 for this service under the Data Protection Act to help cover our administration costs.

Release of information
If you have agreed to allow us to do so, information about you or your business may be provided to relevant third parties for them to use to contact you. However, no information will be provided to any other party without your permission.
Legal disclosure
When approached by the appropriate legal authorities, information about you, your business or account usage may be disclosed but only when specifically required under European or UK Law.
Security
We take security as a priority and take all reasonable precautions to protect information about you and or your company from loss, misuse and alteration by our own staff and our authorised third parties. Other parties who have access to your information have a duty of care as detailed in our contracts with them and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose unless you have given your permission that they may do so. To protect our data and systems we use anti-intruder and anti-infection techniques.
Destruction of confidential materials
Manual destruction of files, records and computer print-outs is carried out in a secure way by internally shredding and using a supplier who uses secure disposal methods.
Automated Collection of other information via the Web
Some non-personal information may be collected automatically, such as the computer operating system and the type of browser software you are using. Also when you visit our web site some information is stored in the form of a 'cookie', a small file that remains on your computer but which acts as a reminder about any preferences you have selected when visiting our sites. We only use 'cookies' to improve our service to you. We will at no time release this data to third parties.
Switching cookies off
Via the options in your Internet software, you should be able to switch cookies off or require a warning message to appear on your screen before a cookie is stored. Please refer to your software supplier for more information.
